Zone VI 16x20 Print Washer
Many moons ago I acquired a used Zone VI 16x20 photographic print washer. Little did I know how much I would suffer from the acquisition. Once I got it home and installed the suffering ended. That thing is HEAVY!! When I was planning out the wet side of the darkroom, I had not yet decided on a sink setup. I had a friend who was in the chip making equipment supply business and he built a welded plastic sink to my specification. The print washer and the sink sat on a built in stand made from 2X4's that easily supported the weight. Details on the construction and installation of the sink can be found here.

The frame that the print washer and sink sits on is one unit made up of 2X4's (lots) and is anchored to the wall. The overflow of the washer drains into the left end of the wet sink through a piece of 1" Tygon tubing. A solid state wall timer is set up to control the water valve that feeds the washer via the 5/16" nylon line at the right end of the washer.

The timer controls the inline water solenoid mounted up and out of the way. For safety sake a manual shut off valve was installed incase of a line failure.

The drain fitting of the print washer is connected with PVC plumbing and the gate valve is used to drain the unit when needed. The drain taps into the wet sink drain and this taps into the drain of the laundry sink installed to the right of this picture.
